Experimentals

First I inked some random  patters and designs and scanned them into Photoshop. I then changed the colours and levels and also the hue and saturation with the image below.

I then painted 4 A4 sheets in watercolour and cut them into A7 pieces and scanned them into Photoshop and changed the levels.

I then put these pieces into Photoshop, and made an A3 poster, changing the sizes of the pieces. I decided to leave a little bit of white around the edges to make them look like postcards.

I then decided to choose a few different watercolour pieces and lay them on top of each other. I then used the marque tool to create a random shape around them and used the vector mask tool to make the shape. I then used a drop shadow to create some dimension. I did this for the two images below.

On this image below I decided to double up some of the pieces on top of each other and changed them to multiply so that they were darker and the colours changed depending on what they were layered on. I then used the rubber to get rid of little bits of the back layer of the pieces.

I then decided to put a flaked wall texture as the background which is from texture site 'Urban Dirty.' I decided to do this as it gives an edge compared to a plain white background.

Here I used the vector mask tool again, but I decided to drop the saturation on every piece. I then used the marquee tool on the right piece to get rid of random sections of the piece.

Here I decided to experiment with more watercolour and some ink. I wrote the lyrics of a song onto the piece and changed the levels and also tried different hue's and saturation's.

Finally I was experimenting with 2 different pieces from another experiment I had done. I decided to change the levels, hue and saturation of the pieces and I also duplicated them to make them darker. I ended up with this piece that is probably my favourite experiment.

Experimenting with light. References to the David Lynch album artworks by Vaughan Oliver. I set my camera to an ISO of 30 seconds, and I then ran with a flash light around the chairs and ran back out again. The solid light lines are when the flashlight was on full beam, the dotted lights are when the light flashed on and off.
